Serbia is divided into 29 districts, each of which comprises several municipalities and/or cities (the basic units of local government are 150 municipalities and 24 cities).
Serbia also has two autonomous provinces: Vojvodina in the north (39 municipalities and 6 cities) and Kosovo and Metohija in the south (28 municipalities and 1 city).
Furthermore, there are five statistical regions since 2010:
- Vojvodina
- Belgrade
- Šumadija and Western Serbia
- Southern and Eastern Serbia
- Kosovo and Metohija
