A Union Territory of India.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands form an archipelago from Landfall and East Islands in the north to Great Nicobar in the south. The archipelago extends in a crescent shaped curve of some 820 kms.

The islands themselves form part of a larger crescent shaped belt of ridges sea mounts and islands from Sumba in Indonesia along the Sunda Trench around Java and Sumatra across the Ten Degree Channel between Car Nicobar and Little Adaman islands to western Myanamar in the north.
