Vein-type Fe-Cu deposit consisting of several hydrothermal siderite-quartz veins with abundant sulfides, especially tetrahedrite, chalcopyrite, and pyrite.

The most important veins are Konštancia, Krištof, Michal I., Michal II., Daniel I. and Daniel II.

The western section of the Fichtenhübel deposit is located in the cadastre of the Smolnícka Huta village, whereas the eastern section is located in the cadastre of the Medzev village.

Extensively explored for iron and copper between 1951-1990, then shortly mined in 1990-1991 and finally abandoned in 1993.
