The Volyn pegmatite field is confined to granites located in the south-western part of the Korosten plutonic complex (one of the largest (about 10,400 km²) AMCG (anorthosite–mangerite–charnockite–granite) complexes in the world). Granites occupy about 75 % of the complex, while basic rocks dominate the rest. The host rocks are Paleoproterozoic gneisses, granites, and migmatites, extending for 22 km along the contact with the anorthosite massif, while the width of the field varies between 300 and 1500 m. Pegmatite-bearing granites are variable in composition, texture, and structure.
