Placer gold deposits in rivers.
The LUC consists of disrupted packages of Jurassic to Early Cretaceous ophiolite unit and Early Cretaceous low-grade to high pressure metamorphic rocks. A Jurassic to Late Cretaceous dismembered ophiolite in the LUC crops out as a series of ultramafic rocks, pillow basalt, limestone-chert intercalation, chert, limestone, sandstone, and shale, in ascending order. Gold-depleted volcanogenic massive sulfide mineralization with chlorite-epidote-smectite alteration occurs in the upper parts of ophiolite unit, formed during hydrothermal activity in the seafloor environment prior to the accretion.
