A Cu-Pb-Zn-Au-Ag-Mn-Fe-Ba-actinolite asbestos mining area located in T2N - T1S, R11W - R12W, in the Eagle Tail Mountains and Cemetery Ridge.
Mineralization is varied: (1) spotty and weak, mostly oxidized copper, lead and zinc ores with some gold and silver values, in veins, veinlets, pods and disseminations with quartz, calcite, and barite gangue, in fissure and fracture zones cutting Cretaceous or Tertiary volcanics and Precambrian intrusive; (2) Spotty and weak copper mineralization and staining, with minor gold and silver, and a gangue of iron and manganese oxides, quartz, gouge, and brecciated wall rock along fractures and faults cutting Mesozoic schist, Precambrian granite, and Cretaceous or Tertiary rhyolite porphyry and hornblendite dikes; (3) Spotty pyrolusite and psilomelane mixed with jasper, calcite and quartz, in irregularly-spaced, lenticular bodies of stringers and veins in brecciated Cretaceous or Tertiary andesite flows and tuff, and in gneissic granodiorite intruded by granite; and, (4) Long fiber, but very brittle, asbestiform actinolite in lensing veins in Mesozoic schist near irregular dikes consisting mainly of actinolite, partly altered to chlorite, and veinlets and masses of magnetite.
Workings are mostly shallow prospects. No recorded production of precious or base metals. About 40 tons of sorted 22% Mn ore was produced in 1953.
