Belonging to the following formations: Tordillo, Lotena, Vaca Muerta and Quintuco, located 35 km to the south of the city of Zapala.
Villa del Puente Picún Leufú is an Argentine town and municipality located in the Catán Lil and Zapala departments, in the province of Neuquén. It is accessed from National Route 40.
The town has an area of 228.25 km².
Etymologically, the name Picún Leufú comes from the Mapuche language, which means North River. In Spanish, the name of Villa del Puente Picún Leufú would be Villa del Puente del Río del Norte.
