Saint-Prix is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France.
Belot (1978):
"(Coming from Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray). West of Autun on the N73 until Fontaine-la-Mère, take the D61 to the right and the D171 at Saint-Léger. Before reaching Saint-Prix there is a quarry on the right side of the road with aplite, calcite, manganese dendrites, sphalerite, galena, epidote, arsenopyrite, and pyrite.
On the D260 to the west, there is another quarry with manganite and quartz geodes.
At the place called 'Les Molérats' (towards Chanson), there are dumps along a waterway with fluorite, galena, and pyromorphite.
At the place called 'La Boulas' on the D260, there is a quarry on the right and a little further there is one on the left with fluorite, hematite, pyrite, pyrolusite, and amethyst."
On the D260 to the west, there is another quarry with manganite and quartz geodes.
