Punta del Agua is an Argentine town and district located in the San Rafael Department of the Mendoza Province. The district occupies a large sector in the southeast of the department, but the town is located in a small oasis at the crossroads of provincial routes 179 and 190.

It owns a very particular microclimate, with almost no winds, storms or hail, pleasant temperatures, little wind and only 15 days without sun in the year. Responsible for this climate is the Cerro Nevado, which at 3,810 meters protects the place from climatic fluctuations. In the area, there are several similar valleys, with a width of no more than 500 meters and an extension of no more than 10 km, after which the streams are lost in the wild desert of the area. The height amounts to between 800 and 950 meters above sea level. Its main attraction is the natural water springs, one of which is used for commercialization under the Punta del Agua brand. In the main valley, there are the police, the health post, the municipal delegation and the shops; but to the north and south of it, other similar valleys run parallel, such as Agua Segura. In 2006, the people expressed their opposition to mining operations in the area.

The access roads were in very bad condition in 2009.
