A village and administrative area.

The area has ash-bearing basaltic tuffs. Example basalt localities: Mt. Wysoka Stróża, Stożek Perkuna hill; Augustówka; Mts.: Łomna (here natrolite may be found in geodes), Smolnik, Srebrnik, Bukowiec, Świtoń, Ostra.

Galena mining is reported from the area, e.g, at "Mt. Grodzisko" (this most likely refers to the local stronghold ruins); amethyst is mentioned to occur there, too.
