Lower Cambrian phosphorite beds with overlying coal seams and black shales. The shales carry nickel and molybdenum minerals, while the phosphorite contains uranium and rare earth elements. Uranium and REE carriers are collophane (isomorphic substitution), clay and carbonaceous-argillaceous matter (adsorption). In addition, a metallic layer at the base of the coal seams contains base metal sulfides.

The deposit was prospected in 1977-1978, but although the phosphate beds have economic grades, they were found to be too thin for being mined profitably. The area is now built over.
