Worked from late 1700's to 1925 principally for copper then later for tin and arsenic as at Devon Great Consols. The site was extended in the 1880's with the sinking of Bennetts shaft (SX510792) when the name changed to Devon Friendship. The stack at Brentons shaft was demolished by the TA in 1954 apparently causing damage to surrounding houses. Ref.: (in part): Rocks & Min.: 16:129.
