For the type locality
Unique combination of elements. First mineral with Bi-As-Fe nanoclusters. Contains admixture, i.a., of Cr3+.
The structure is based on [Bi3Fe7O6(OH)2(AsO4)9]11– nanoclusters, surrounding [Fe(Fe3(OH)O12)2]29- groups containing one trigonal prismatic and six octahedral Fe ions. Chains of Mg(O,H2O)6 octahedra provide a link to the nanoclusters. Channels along [100] contain structural water.
The structure is based on [Bi3Fe7O6(OH)2(AsO4)9]11– nanoclusters, surrounding [Fe(Fe3(OH)O12)2]29- groups containing one trigonal prismatic and six octahedral Fe ions. Chains of Mg(O,H2O)6 octahedra provide a link to the nanoclusters. Channels along [100] contain structural water.
