Named in 1959 by Gordon Frank Claringbull, Max H. Hey and Arthur Russell for Cornubia, the medieval Latin name for Cornwall.

The triclinic dimorph of Cornwallite.
There are weak hydrogen bonds in the structure. Raman polarizability is dependent on the orientation of arsenate tetrahedra, changing most along the Y axis (Janeczek et al., 2016).
