A former Cu-Mo-Ag-Bi-W-Sb-U mine located in sec. 25, T24N, R16E, and in sec. 30, T24N, R17E, MDM, 2.6 km (1.6 miles) WSW of Adams Peak, E of Frenchman Lake & the Little Last Chance Valley, SE of the Last Chance Creek, near the Lassen County line, on National Forest land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
NOTE: The Murdock Mine is located on a parcel of private land within the national forest.
Mineralization is quartz dikes in granite related to either hydrothermal phase of the magmatic sequence or of pegmatitic-pneumatolitic origin.Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
