Name:
Named 1957 by A. A. Chernikov, O. V. Krutetskaya, and N. I. Organova for it being a sodium-rich member of the autunite group. Originally published as "sodium autunite", but changed in the same year by the authors to "natroautunite". Renamed "meta-natroautunite" in 1994 by A. A. Chernikov and N. I. Organova for the dehydrated relationship of the described mineral.
