Formula:
KMg(SO4)Cl
Name:
From "ANHYDRO" meaning without water and KAINITE in allusion to its composition and relationship to Kainite.
Type Locality:
Formed by the dehydration of Kainite by basalt intrusion into the northern German salt deposits. However, according to Borisov et al. (2022), the dehydration of kainite, which is stable up to 190°C, resulted in the formation of the decomposition products K2Mg2(SO4)3, KCl and K2SO4.
Possibly the Mg analogue of belousovite.
Possibly the Mg analogue of belousovite.
