Named in honour of Prof. Dr. Ekkehart Tillmanns (29 January 1941 in Münster/Westfalen, Germany - 29/30 December 2020 in Vienna, Austria), an eminent crystallographer and, until 2009, head of the Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography of the University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria.
