Kaolin quarry at Monte Sughereto, a rhyolitic dome deeply kaolinized by hydrothermal alteration.

Marcasite, pyrite, and stibnite are the most abundant sulphides. Realgar and orpiment occur within veins and cavities embedded in the kaolin mass, in association with kaolinite, quartz, alunite, and more rarely baryte.

Dussertite has been found as microcrystals forming pistachio-green incrustations on a partly altered rock containg small crystals of quartz, baryte, and kaolinite (Fiori & Pucci, 2000).
