A Mn occurrence/mine located in the center SW¼ sec. 12, T7S, R4E, MDM, on the divide between Bollinger Canyon on the N and Arroyo Bayo on the S, W of Jumpoff Creek, on private land (private lease). Discovered in 1917. Owned by M. M. O. Day, California (1974). Operated by Noble Electric Steel Company (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in Late Cretaceous chert. The orebody is a thick, stumpy lens enclosed in thick-bedded white to buff chert. The main lens is 30 feet (ca. 9 m) long with a maximum thickness of 6 feet (1.83 m), striking N15W and dipping 60SW. The chert is in a fault and in contact with Franciscan sandstone. Very little Mn oxide is present in the main orebody, mainly along seams and cracks. The ore is principally brown bementite, some with rhodochrosite. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).

Workings include surface openings.

Analytical data results: The average grade of the ore is 25% Mn.
