Grube am Pieperberg, Hasserode, Wernigerode, Harz, Sachsen-Anhalt, Deutschland
An old Pb-Cu mine with unknown name. The mine is located at the south slope of the Pieperberg, above the St. Georg mine. This mine and (to the west) the mines in the Sienberg district and finally the Christine mine are arranged on the same vein line.
Because some mines are very old and no names are known is given a likelihood of confusion relating to some publications. So SCHLEIFENBAUM describes an other mine as Pieperberg mine, see also the sub-locality "Mine at the Piepergrund".
Sometimes the mineral content of this mine is added to the St. Georg mine, because of the short distance between both mines. But the St. Georg mine was working on another vein (without Pb-mineralization).
