Open-pit mining of Cu-Zn-Pb-Ag mineralisation in folded Triassic - Jurassic limestone of the Pucará formation.
Currently owned by "Volcan Cia Minera S.A.A.", it is the most well-known Peruvian mine wordwide with also the largest production of zinc and lead in Peru.
