A former underground uranium mine located on 5 claims in sec. 31, T8N, R15E & sec. 36, T8N, R14E, about 2¼ miles NNW of Pendelton Mesa, and about ¾ mile E of Cherry Creek, at the northern boundary of the McFadden Peak quadrangle, about 17 miles SE of Young. Located and owned by O.H. Shepp. Leased to American Asbestos and Uranium Co.
Mineralization is deposits in dark gray, flaggy, indurated siltstone about 45 to 70 feet above the base of the upper member of the Dripping Spring Quartzite. An associated rock unit is diabase. Radioactivity 0.1 to nearly 5.0 mr/hr.
Workings include 4 adits totalling 610 feet of workings. No production record.
