Latitude & Longitude (decimal):
Locality type:
Köppen climate type:
Tectonics: Passive Continental Margin
Deposit: Thin sheets and wedges of heavy minerals along cross-beds and in local patches and streaks in lower wellborn formation arkosic sandstone. Very irregular distribution of deposits. There are 4 known deposits, each described in separate records: falkenberg-blackburn, colvin, carter-branch, weiler-whitener.
Deposit type: Shoreline placer Ti
Development: Discovered during regional gamma ray survey for uranium. Shallow heavy mineral deposits yield gamma ray anomaly.
Rock formation(s): Wellborn Formation
