The Pegasus gold prospect was first named in 1999, after a gold anomalism was reported at the site in 1987. Exploration drilling continued across 1999-2006, identifying a sub-economic small resource. This was re-evaluated in 2011, with basically far more gold found, and a mineralised structure continuing north and dipping 45 degrees west.
The Pegasus deposit is 480 metres north of the Rubicon mine, and accessed from this mines decline. Pegasus has an Indicated Resource of 1401 Mt at 11.9 g/t yielding 535 000 ounces of gold; and an Inferred Resource of 678 Mt at 10.5 g/t yielding 228 000 ounces.
