Part of the large Ulstein-Dimnøy eclogite is occasionally exposed during construction work in and around this village.
The Ulstein-Dimnøy eclogite is about 6 km long, and occurs as a pinch and swell structure folded together with the gneisses in the Ulsteinvik syncline (Mysen & Heier 1971).
