Krystallhaugen, Hattfjeldal, Nordland, Norge
Quartz deposits, mined from 1946-1948 for piezo-electric quartz. A hydrothermal quartz vein 2-4 m wide located near Mt. Vågvassfjellet, on the southern side of Krutådalen
In the 1990 new quartz veins was found nearby. Large doubleterminated smoky quartz has recently been found at the site. Due to unwise collecting methods and popularity, now only collecting on the dumps is allowed, and not in the veins in situ. The mine is protected. The area is under supervision by The Forestmanager (Skogforvalteren) at Mosjøen.
