The Harmony was a moderate producer of copper south of Salmon. It was one of the highest (elevation) mines in the area, with the main workings being at around 8200 ft (ca. 2,499 m). The ore was along mostly parallel shears in quartzite.
When the mine was first discovered is unknown, but the first recorded production was in 1916. Small shipments were made until 1920 when a mill was built and production increased. It closed briefly in 1921 then reopened in 1922 and produced considerable concentrates until 1924. Most of the work for the next few years was development, but in 1928 the mine resumed production and ran until 1930. During that time a diesel generator was installed at Baker and 8 miles (ca. 13 km) of electric line were run to the mine. In 1931 a small amount of ore was briefly produced, but the mine was soon scrapped out. The final recorded production from the mine was 47,000 tons of ore containing 1,815,000 lbs (ca 823 t) of copper.
