Type Occurrence of TurtmanniteHide

General Appearance of Type Material:
Bright yellow micaceous mineral. Flakes measure up to 200 µm in length.
Place of Conservation of Type Material:
Musée Cantonal de Géologie, Lausanne, Switzerland, holotype (MGL53593) and cotype (MGL58732).
Geological Setting of Type Material:
Fe-Mn ores filling paleokarst pockets in marble. The ore and marble later underwent Tertiary metamorphism under upper greenschist facies conditions.
