A former lode Au-Cu-Zn-Pb mine located 1.3 km (4,400 feet) SSW of Sugarloaf summit (coordinates of record), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit (Deposit model: 273: Low-sulfide Au-quartz vein), hosted in rhyolite. Three veins containing veinlets of sulphide ore.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 5 (Northern Sierra Nevada and Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Related tectonic structures: Klamath Mountains.
Workings include underground openings consisting of several pits and short adits.
Production data are found in: Albers and Robertson (1961).
