A former lode Au-Zn-Pb-Cu occurrence/mine located in sec. 11, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 2 km W of Nevada City proper, on the N canyon wall of Deer Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is .
Mineralization is hosted in granite and slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 33-49E at a thickness of 3.66 meters. The vein follows a contact between syenitic granite hanging wall and a partially metamorphosed slate footwall. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 533.4 meters and an overall depth of 182.88 meters and comprised of a shaft, 5,000 foot long tunnel, drifts and stopes.
Analytical data results: The sulfides assayed $80 to $225 (period values) Au/ton.
