Commodity: Zinc increases with depth. Lamping in 1982 field examination did not sho W any scheelite
Deposit: Molybdenite in tactite. Owners also report au, ag, cu, w. Contact zone extends nw-se for about 2 miles. 5 orebodies, tabular in shape, 50-200 ft long, 3-20 ft wide. Ores shoots may parallel bedding or crosscut it in fractures. Gossan lenses, skarn zone about 50 ft wide with 2 bands of massive garnet 4-5 ft thick in center, separated by gossan lens. Lenses of galena-sphalerite-pyrite along bedding. Discovery year: early 1870's 1860?
Deposit type: Skarn Zn-Pb
Development: Worked in early days by mexicans who built 2 native adobe smelters; bought in 1904 by the clair family who operated it for a number of years. Tungsten ore mined 1956-57 and milled in the 30-ton concentrating mill on the property. Owned and operated by bullion consolidated mining co. (1922) operated by sylvania silver-lead mining co. In 1910.
Geology: Orebody is indicated by surface coloration (limonite stain) for the length of the contact about 2 miles.
