A former underground Cu-Ag-Au-Pb-Zn mine located 5/8 mile upstream NNE from the Mary and Polatski Mines, on the east side of Josephine Canyon, about opposite the Tia Juana cabin. Discovered in 1895.
Mineralization involves a 4 foot wide quartz vein in dacite, with about a foot of gouge on the hanging wall side.
The ore is comprised of oxidized iron and copper-stained quartz containing sulphides, copper carbonates and iron oxides. It also contains some silver and gold (3 oz. Ag/T & $2 Au/T [period values]).
Workings include a 100 foot drift and a 60 foot deep shaft.
