Rocca Marsa, Ferriere, Val d'Aveto, Provincia di Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italia
Rocca Marsa, located near the border with the Metropolitan City of Genoa (Liguria), is part of the N-S oriented ridge, connecting Monte Crociglia with Groppo Rosso and dividing the middle Aveto Valley to the west and the upper Nure Valley to the east. Minerals are found in ophiolitic pillow basalts.
Note: The name "Ciapa Lisca" is improperly used by many mineral collectors to indicate the scree bordering a smooth-looking wall of this mountain, but in fact originated from a layer of ophiolitic lava pillows on the adjacent Rocca Marsa.
