The largest mercury deposit in Japan, now abandoned. Seven major veins, late Miocene(?), cut Miocene propylite (propylitized andesite), and a network of veinlets is disseminated through the overlying tuffaceous sandstone. Ore grade 0.35 to 0.40% Hg. Unusually rich in native mercury, which often dominated over cinnabar.
