A former underground Au-Ag-Cu-Pb-Mn mine located on the divide between Galena Gulch and Chaparral Creek, South of McCabe. Started in the 1860's. Reopened 1900-1914. Owned by the Southern Exploration Co. (1932-33).
Mineralization is a 3 foot wide vein of gold-bearing quartz.
Workings include a 120 foot deep shaft (1881). Assay was 0.5 - 3.0 oz. Au/T. A 10-stamp mill was erected and shared with the Lelan Mine.
