The Kazakhstan-Gobi metallogenic province (KGMP), the westernmost part of the CAPCMD, whose evolution is principally governed by the Paleo-Asian Ocean geodynamic system, corresponds to the western portion of the CAPCMD and largely overlaps with the Kazakhstan Block. It hosts the bulk of the domains precious and base metals. The KGMP geological framework is characterized by the enduring Kipchak Arc, an intra-oceanic arc system that spanned from the Ordovician to the Permian.
