A limestone quarry in North Vernon Limestone & Jeffersonville Limestone. Started early 1900's.

Known for its golden calcite crystals often combining rhombohedral and prism forms with a pseudo rhombic-dodecahedral appearance:

Scalenohedral calcite crystals are also known.

The Devonian limestone is also home to silicified corals.

One description of a section of the quarry is as follows:

A good section of the lower 40 feet of the New Albany shale is exhibited in the quarry. The Silver Creek has disappeared. The section is approximately as follows:

New Albany shale: black shale, 15ft.; green and greengray banded shale, 15ft.; black shale, 10ft.; pyritic and conglomeritic beds in green shale

Beechwood limestone: dark gray, crinoidal, phosphatic pebbles, conglomeritic, 5ft.; tan to gray, crystalline, dense limestone, 2.5ft.; dark gray, phosphatic pebbles, crinoidal, conglomeritic, 1ft

Jeffersonville limestone: dolomitic, massive, tan, cherty, very fossiliferous at top, green calcite masses, 10ft.; dolomite, tan to gray, coarsely banded and mottled, 6ft.; highly laminated dolomite, 6ft;

Geneva dolomite: exposed in floor of quarry; brown, massive, calcite masses, variegated, barren of fossils 5 plus ft.
