Worked from 1858 to 1889, producing 22,000 tons of copper. A large burrow from this mine can be seen on the eastern slope of Carn Brea. Below the hillside, beside the footpath to Carnkie, is a cavernous system of levels.
A long level platform follows the contour of the hillside below the 'Castle' and above the track. This is almost entirely grassed over except for a small bare patch beside the track. Below the track are extensive tips of rock that are almost barren for minerals of interest. Sept '22
