Pescadores islands
The Penghu comprise a group of 90 islands and islets that form an archipelago in the Taiwan Strait c.40km off the west coast of Taiwan.
The islands and islets comprise submarine and subaerial basaltic rocks intercalated with marine sediments (Greenough et al. 1999).
