About Rhombohedral CarbonateHide

In mineralogy carbonates are a wide group of minerals containing the CO3 anion, many of which are rare and not found as rock-forming minerals.

In petrology the term 'carbonate' usually refers to calcium, magnesium and iron carbonates, such as calcite, dolomite, magnesite, ankerite and siderite. It can also refer to a rock rich in such minerals.
