Locality type:
Köppen climate type:
Gold-stibnite prospect. Located about 8 kilometres west of the Camel Gold Mine, 80 kilometres south-west of Port Hedland.
Auriferous stibnite quartz veins that resemble tension gashes, hosted by turbidites of the Mallina Formation. High gold values near the surface. Historically one of the veins was followed down 47 feet, and good stibnite was found, although there was little gold at depth.
In 1916, 5 tonnes of material extracted was sent to Sydney, and produced 57% antimony and 5.5 dwt gold. Later the same year 14 tonnes was sent to Bendigo producing 55.2% antimony and 6 dwt gold.
