A small copper mine which was worked independently in 1764 and again in 1805. It was later included in New Consols.
The workings included four shafts, of which Broadgate Shaft (90 fms deep) was the chief one. The grid reference marks the engine house ruin at this shaft.
The mine is said to have raised 80 tons of copper ores before it was included in the New Consols sett.
