The locality consists of two parallel trenches just east of NY Rt. 3 about 2 miles northeast of the village of Natural Bridge. This is a mineral collecting site as early as the late 1830s, at which time it was known as Cleveland's Farm. Shepard (1840) reported on a field trip there with Baron von Lederer.
