Hydrothermal ore veins. Some of the best galena and sphalerite specimens, with large lustrous to dull (sphalerite) and large matte (galena) crystals, in the Lavrion district originate from this small mine. However, the mine is very dangerous because the country rock of the ore veins consists of black schist prone to collapsing over time. Furthermore, at very high tide, the first 30-40 m of the entry may be flooded and filled with beach sand.
The mine is also known for small sceptre quartz crystals.

Note:
- There are two entries to the mine, one inside a house (located immediately above the mine) of the owner of the area, the other one directly adjacent to the house.
- Situation in autumn 2020: the entry within the house was turned into a party cellar. The house later changed ownership.
