Large bright green chromium diopside in Sloan Kimberlite matrix from the Sloan diatremes, State Line Kimberlite District, Larimer Co., Colorado. Chromium diopside is a kimberlite indicator mineral, suggesting the presence of diamonds is possible. The Sloan Kimberlite is diamoniferous, but not in economic quantities. The chromium diopside is 2.2 cm long and the specimen is 3.3 x 1.7 x 2.2 cm. In the American Kimberlite Collection of J. Nemitz.
