Co-described with UM1997-01-As:FeIrNiS, UM1997-05-As:NiOs, UM1997-29-E:CuFeOsRu, and UM1997-38-S:AsIrOs.
The minerals occur intergrown with, i.a., olivine and with each other. The approved associated PGE minerals include laurite, erlichmanite, irarsite, iridium, osmium, kashinite, ruthenarsenite, omeiite, and Ir-rich variety of dienerite. Other associates are chromite, covellite, garnet group, and heazlewoodite.
