Area c. 7000km² of basaltic lavas with a central elevated area of c. 350km² known as the Minerava Hills Volcanics (Mollan et al. 1969: Sutherland et al. 1989).
The volcanic rocks are c. 330m thick and the general topography of these areas is one of the plateaus with mesas.
