Mucha Grande
A former V-U occurrence/mine located in sec. 1, T42N, R18W, NMM, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not credibly stated. Owned and operated by Holder Auringer & Ream (1956). Owned by the North American Uranium Corporation, Colorado (1975).
Mineralization is a V-U deposit. The ore body(ies) is sedimentary, irregular, tabular & lenticular. The primary mode of origin was residual concentration and the secondary mode was oxidation. Primary ore control was lithology and the secondary control was bedding. Wallrock alteration is moderate (bleaching). The depth-to-top is 22.9 meters (minimum of 15.3 meters). Local rocks include rocks of the Glen Canyon Group and Chinle Formation.
Workings include unspecified underground openings.
