A former Cu (& Cr ?) occurrence/mine located in sec. 25, T27N, R9W, MDM, 2.8 km (9,100 feet) NNW of Tomhead Mountain (coordinates of record) (on the N slope), along Cedar Creek, on National Forest land. This property is comprised of 3 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein Cu deposit hosted in diabase. The ore body strikes N75W and dips 65N at a thickness of 6.1 meters. Local rocks include Franciscan schist.
Workings include underground openings. They are comprised of two tunnels, a crosscut tunnel driven S 420 feet, which cuts the vein 150 feet from its portal. Drifts run E-W for 200 feet. Several winzes. 150 feet above is a second tunnel 366 feet long, which cuts the vein 60 feet S of its portal. Drifts run E-W for 250 feet.
Low-grade ore.
